The University of Washington and the Northwest Chapter of the Dalcroze Society of America Dalcroze Eurhythmics Summer Workshops:

Seattle, WA

Week I: July 28 - August 1

Week II: August 4 - 8

Faculty:

Julia Schnebly-Black, Ph.D.

Stephen Moore, Ph.D

The workshops will address the three parts of Dalcroze training: Eurhythmics, Sight-singing, and Improvisation (piano skills are not necessary). While this training is a source of ideas for teaching, the principal aim is to improve musicianship, the basis of good teaching. Participants are encouraged to respond in their own way, at their own level of performance. Dalcroze classes give opportunities to experiment, widen musical experience, and enjoy the freedom that builds confidence. Developing a balance between thinking about what you are doing, sensing what your movements are telling you, feeling the lift and power of the experience can truly open new doors.

University of Washington Credits and Washington State Clock Hours will be available.
